DARK PATTERNS

• when you use websites/apps, you don’t read every word on every page, you skim read & make assumptions
A personal experience: when I wanted to order an item on an instagram page they made it seem like it was an easy purchase but they asked for more information other than just my credit card info.

HOPEPUNK

HOPEPUNK- genuinely/sincerely caring about something, requiring bravery + strength.
• standing up for other people
• fighting for what you believe in

~I think authors think it matters, so they can help the reader seek something they truly care about. By them talking about what they care about, the reader might find what they care about.
  • authors think it’s important for others to find themselves through things they love
